Presenting The watch that Bulova should have built.

This Astronaut / Spaceview hybrid is a truly unique timepiece. To date, only a handful of these pieces have been created.  I built and sold these over a period of 10 years starting in 1998. Back then I could only finish one watch a year until it became impossible to maintain a reasonable repair backlog and I have no plans to make another one any time soon.

The center of an original Astronaut dial is cut away to reveal the 214 movement. The degree of precision required to accomplish this without removing any of the Astronaut markings, is what makes the final product so remarkable, and so rare. The long, and exacting machining process requires the use of a custom built fixture, which is mounted on a milling machine. The machine setup includes the use of two sterio-optic microscopes, and a high precision digital readout.
