Service only includes:
    Cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment of the movement to work correctly with a readily available 1.5V battery. Disassembly and cleaning of the case. (bezel, back cover, battery hatch, setting stem, and threaded lock ring).A new gasket is installed on the battery hatch, the setting stem is lubricared and if necessary, the battery contact spring is bent back into its original shape. A new crystal is installed and the watch is re-assembled with a new case gasket. Dials will be cleaned or they can be sent out for restoration by a specialist at additional cost.

Astronaut only:
    The rotating Astronaut bezel ring is disassembled and cleaned,

Full restoration includes all of the above plus:
    Bezels are buffed. The angled surfaces on the rear cover, setting stem, battery hatch, and outer lock ring are buffed to a brilliant shine. The straight graining on the flat part of the rear cover is restored with special care taken to preserve the depth and crispness of engravings. The circular graining is restored on the setting stem and battery hatch and if necessary the battery contact spring will be replaced. A new crystal and gaskets will be installed. Band selection and dial restoration will vary to suit owner. Dials will be cleaned or they can be sent out for restoration by a specialist at additional cost.

Astronaut only:
    The rotating bezel ring is disassembled. The parts are cleaned and the engraving is filled with black paint. The ring is then mounted on a lathe fixture for scratch removal and to restore the original circular graining.

    Each watch will be guaranteed in writing (parts and labor) for one full year from the date of purchase.

     Special orders will be shipped when service, restoration and timing is complete. The process typically takes 4 to 6 weeks, two of which are spent making fine adjustments.

Wanted: Bulova Accutron Model 214 Tuning Fork Wristwatches, Parts, Accessories, Tools, and Ephemera.

I buy 214's for parts in any condition, working or not. Also need Accutron watch crystals, dials, and watchbands with the Accutron tuning fork logo. If you have a 60's or 70's Accutron case or outer cardboard box, owners booklet, hang tag, battery hatch coin, facts booklet, service manual, etc., please contact me with your asking price. If your expectations are reasonable I'll get back to you.    

Please make sure that your watch is a model 214. The 214 is set from the rear of the case by lifting a spring loaded "C" shaped lever (see photo). Also on the rear of the case there is a slotted hatch cover which unscrews to access the battery. If the back of your watch is similar to the one in the photo, yours is a 214.
