There are three
correct
silver oxide
batteries available for the
Accutron 214.
They are #387S, #394 and Accucell-1
batteries. Recently the #387S and #394's have been combined into one part
number. Look for the new 387/394 batteries at most watch sales and repair shops,
Batteries for the 214 are available here
Each photo below shows a #387S on the left and a #394 battery on
the right.
They are the same thickness
and voltage.
AccuCell-1 Battery - 1.3v for the 214
The 1.3v
AccuCell-1 battery is actually a standard 395 cell fitted with a diode
to drop the voltage. The battery has to be small enough to make room
for the diode and as a result they have a 15% shorter life than a 387S or
394 cell. Some 214's which have been
adjusted to run on 1.5 volts will not run properly with the reduced voltage.
These batteries are not returnable.

Save your Plastic Sleeves
View of the battery as it should be placed into your Accutron (un-printed side up). The printed side is facing down. Important: Hold the battery with your fingers or non conducting tweezers only.
Photo of what you should see after you drop the battery into
your watch. If you can see printing on the battery,
you goofed, the battery has
been pressed into the plastic spacer up-side-down.
IMPORTANT: TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE COIL, MAKE CERTAIN THAT THE BATTERY IS SEATED ALL THE WAY DOWN AND FLAT AGAINST THE CIRCUIT BOARD. IF YOU FEEL PRESSURE BEFORE THE BATTERY CAP IS SCREWED ALL THE WAY DOWN, REMOVE THE CAP AND RE-SEAT THE BATTERY
