Wanted: Bulova Accutron Model 214 Tuning Fork Wristwatches, Parts, Accessories, Tools, and Ephemera.
I buy 214's in any condition, working or not. Also need Accutron watch crystals, dials, and watchbands with the Accutron tuning fork logo. If you have a 60's or 70's Accutron case or outer cardboard box, owners booklet, hang tag, battery hatch coin, facts booklet, service manual, etc., please let me know.
Please make sure that your watch is a model 214. The 214 is
set from the rear of the case (see photo) by lifting a spring loaded
"C" shaped lever. Also on the rear of the case there is a slotted
hatch cover which unscrews to access the battery. If the back of your watch is
similar to the one in the photo please contact me.

Martin, I have been remiss in not thanking you for the great work you did on my watch. It runs beautifully and looks as good as new. Thanks for the fast, excellent and fair priced work you performed. Bob Donohue
I have a old Bulova self-winding watch that does not work, I want to know if you would want to buy it or how much would it cost to have it fixed/ I also have a very old Waltham self-winding watch that works very good, I want to know if you would be interested in buying it from me? Thank you for your time and consideration concerning this matter herein. I will be urgently awaiting your reply?
I HAVE A 1971 ACCUTRON MODEL ? IT IS GOLD FINISHED HAS DATE ONLY AT 6' O'CLOCK POSITION WITH GOLD HANDS AND A RED HAND RUNNING. NO NUMERALS JUST BLACK SQUARES WITH SMALLER RED SQUARES. THE SETTING KNOB IS LOCATED AT THE LOWER RIGHT HAND SIDE AT THE 4'OCLOCK POSITION. I AM WONDERING WHAT MODEL IT IS AND APPROX. WORTH. IT IS RUNNING FINE. ALSO THE ORIGINAL BAND IS NOT ON IT AND I AM WONDERING IF YOU COULD TELL ME WHICH WAS THE ORIGINAL AND DO YOU HAVE ONE FOR SALE? PLEASE REPLY TO GICKOWSKI@AOL.COM THANK YOU GREG
I need some info on a railroad approved Accutron I received from my grandfather, of all the pictures I saw on the internet none are like this, the back case says 10kt filled, on the dial it has the military time in red, but it also has the days of the week and the date, the days of the week are in English or Spanish. It was working when he gave it to me 15 years ago, but now I assume the battery is dead. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. Dana
I have a 1964 Spaceview in good to excellent condition. It runs and keeps accurate time. My jeweler did not want to open the back case. Where can I possibly get it appraised. I am located near Pittsburgh PA. Please e-mail me at pathodge@access995.com. I would appreciate a response. Thanks, Pat Hodge
Hi, I have just acquired a 218 Accutron, there is a G marked on the side of the case normally hidden by the strap. Is this a gold case? Thanks
Martin, I just wanted to say thanks for doing such a great job on my 214. It's nice to know that someone still knows what service and integrity are about. Bill Kevorkian
Hi. I currently own a collection of six 214 Spaceviews. They all keep excellent time on the 387 silver oxide batteries. I only occasionally wear these watches. I mainly keep them in a display case. I am wondering if over the long term if I am better off loosening the battery hatch and letting them rest for periods of time or if restarting the watches would do more harm than good. Please let me know you thoughts. Thanks for the great website. Jay Reynolds
Good question Jay, I'm going to add this to my F.A.Q. Page.
NOT TO RUN: Although it takes many years to accumulate any appreciable wear on a 214 mechanism, many collectors feel that there is no point in adding unnecessary wear to a movement or coil that may already be borderline.
TO RUN CONTINUOUSLY: When an Accutron is started up there is a momentary spike in the amps through the coil. It is possible for a weak or failing coil to die at the moment electricity is applied. Think of a light bulb that blows at the moment you flip the switch. Once an Accutron is running the amps through the coil settle down to a comfortable level and even a weak coil will run indefinitely in this state. Another benefit of allowing the movement to run is that the oil on the bearings will maintain an even coating of protective lubrication on the steel gear shafts.
I HAVE A SOFT COVER BOOK PUBLISHED IN 1944 BY BULOVA WATCH. IT IS CALLED "ITS TIME YOU KNEW" "STRANGE AND INTERESTING FACTS" BY LAURENCE. IT BASICALLY IS SIMILAR TO A RIPLEY'S BELIEVE IT OR NOT BOOK. THE INSIDE COVER WAS STAMPED FROM A JEWELRY SHOP IN NEW YORK. WAS THIS A PROMO? DOES IT HAVE ANY VALUE? THANKS FOR ANY HELP, BILL. AMERICASGIFT@AOL.COM
I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHERE I MIGHT FIND A SITE (MAYBE YOURS) WHERE I CAN THE VALUE OF A WATCH. I DO NOT REMEMBER WHEN I PURCHASED THE ACCUTRON. AFTER BROWSING YOUR WEB SITE I HAVE DETERMINED THAT IT IS A MODEL 214 WITH THE 10kt GOLD FILLED BEZEL BACK. THE SERIAL # ON BACK IS E33156 WITH M5 BELOW THAT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. MIKE WHITE E-MAIL ADDRESS IS MYPATOOKIS@CHARTER.NET
Have you any information on a Bulova Accutron Caliber 2193.10 this model is fitted with only one coil. The number inside case is G3617 and on back of case N7, which I believe is date of manufacture. Any information on this model would be gratefully accepted, especially availability of spares, if any. M.N.W.
how much is the accutron bulova 214 is worth
The answer to this question is at: http://www.antiqueadvertiser.com/accutron/AccutronQ&A.htm#What is the value
Question - If the Accutron will not be worn for a while, should the battery be removed or should the watch be left to run? So many cal. 214's are being converted to Spaceviews that I believe my '63 unconverted should rise in value. Does anyone else agree with this philosophy?
If you're not going to wear your 214 for a period of 30 days or more, I would remove the battery. Otherwise let it run.
Regarding your thoughts about unconverted 214's rising in value, I agree wholeheartedly. Of course, original and properly converted Spaceviews will also increase in value. In my opinion, poorly done conversions will eventually be re-converted back to dial models or used for parts.
Hi, I have a 14K Gold case vintage Accutron man's watch (M9). I notice the word "Accutron" is located near the nine on the face as opposed to directly underneath the Accutron logo at the twelve position. Does this suggest the watch may have been modified or even be a fake? Wish to sell, need to authenticate! Thanks! Amanda
Accutron crystals and dials were made both ways.
I have a deep sea 666 accutron bought in 1970.The date on the case is m8.the watch does not run and is missing its metal band.I've talked to company reps and jewelers and all insist this watch was sold with a leather band.If i can find a band for it i would get it fixed.I was given a repair estimate of $300+ but was not told what was wrong with the watch.Any info you can pass along would be helpfull.I also would like to find the value .Some of the deep sea 666 watches i've seen have a red marking on the bezel and red pointer on the hands. My watch doesn't have this. The bezel is all black with just the date on the dial.
I have a Bulova Accutron Travelers Mark II watch from the mid 1970's I can't find any information at all on this watch any idea's
To Whom It May Concern: I have an Accutron Astronaut Model no. 21207, case no. 1-613871 M8, stainless steel bracelet, black dial, near mint condition in the original box with all original papers. Watch purchased Feb 28, 1970. I have outer box and inner box with original price tag. Watch has been stored in closet for past 10 or 15 years. I just put a new battery in the watch and it keeps perfect time. Would you be interested in buying? You can e-mail me at dfdgolfer@aol.com David
Martin, I have an Accutron Spaceview 214 M5, Which I bought back in 1964, new. Paid $125.00. It still runs, and I wear it every day. One of the problems I have with it is that the second hand has stopped moving for the past 5 to 6 years. Also it gains time usually about 20 to 30 minutes fast over a period of time. Also my crystal is the orginal, It has the tuning fork emblem and Accutron name below it. it is on the left side at the 8 hour mark. Looking at a lot of Accutrons and I don't normally see this location very often. My question to you would my problem with the second hand not moving have anything to do with the gaskets being worn out? Thank you in advance. This is a great place for looking up information on the Accutrons Ernie Malnar email> enm007@aol.com
Gaskets have nothing to do with the operation of the second hand. Your problem may be a corroded shaft on the center second pinion gear. Problems with the movement are detected and repaired during normal maintenance which should be performed approximately every 5 years.
I have a Bulova Accutron 1960's watch . I am interested in knowing more about it but I can't find the exact model. I have the case #2304 m/r 14kt can you help me with more information. I am also interested in possibly selling this item. my e-mail address is ohsillyrabbit@yahoo.com. Thank you for your time. Karen
I have a Bulova Accutron which needs repair in the UK does anyone know where I can get this done? James jdrfuda@supanet.com
Was there a solid gold, or gold filled Astronaut, available sometime in the 60s. I was a Cincinnati Police Officer, and was given one as a gift for interrupting a robbery of a jewelry store that was gold in color by the jewelers association, sadly long gone, but I thought it was gold or gold-filled. Thanks for your time...George Minze, a watchaholic.
I own a # 214 Reflective ring in 14k white gold with gold hour markers in perfect working order. It has a white S.S.band. The battery is dead. The crystal is clear. There is some small burring on the battery slot. I would entertain selling the unit if the offer is reasonable. If you are interested please advise NBudofsky@yahoo.com
DEAR WEBMASTER, I'M A BULOVA ACCUTRON FREAK, I'M VERY LUCKY AND PROUD TO OWN 3 BEAUTIFUL ACCUTRONS, ONE ORIGINAL SPACEVIEW OF 1973 (N3) with a square "TONNEAU DIAL", one N4 that I bought as brand new in a final stock and a very old M3 1963 in perfect condition. I just wanted to let you know that your website is really great. Sincerely, Patrick Hufschmid, Switzerland
I was given an Accutron Spaceview as a graduation gift in 1966, wore it for twenty years then put it away...I can't remember why. I ran across it several weeks ago, realized what a gem it is, got it cleaned and lubed and am now proudly wearing it again. It is a SS 10kt gold filled Spaceview. I'm curious to know what it's purchase price was in 1966. Thanks, Barry Waldman
I have a 214 Accutron in excellent condition case is great face & hands crystal is original it was put a side with battery out of it so there's no damage from battery leakage. I would like to sell my 214 railroad model-excellent condition- runs fast with the 1.50 volt battery. I recently had it overhauled. jjfromfl@att.net
I just acquired an Accutron Desk Clock. I have never seen or heard of these before and was wondering if anyone could advise me on the history of these. I thought perhaps they were made as displays for jewelers. It has the see through Accutron movement and is clearly genuine Bulova. Any information is appreciated.
I am trying to find the replacement cost for a (est.) 1975 - 1978 vintage Men's Bulova Accutron watch. It had a solid brushed gold (bracelet type) band. It was a beautiful dressy watch. Thanks in advance for any help I can receive. RD
We were told that we need a 31mm crystal for a Spaceview 214 model 10k gold filled will a 30.55mm fit this model any info you can provide I would greatly appreciate we saw several crystal sizes on your site but we unsure what to order do you have a direct web site thank you Steve
I recently purchased an Accutron with a 218 movement from a local estate sale. I had a jeweler install a new battery. I noticed that the watch is running extremely fast. Could this be caused by using the wrong 1.55 volt battery. He installed a 390 battery.
Thanks
Ross

Greetings, Just found your site.If anyone could direct me to a source that has coils for accutrons, I would really appreciate the favour! E-Mail Address: ftd22901@yahoo.com
Hi folks. I have a 214 Railroad model (my grandfather's in fact) that my father had serviced a year or two ago and then sort of put aside. The battery was dead when he gave it to me this week, so I replaced that and the watch runs fine, though so far about 5 seconds/day fast. My question, though, concerns the sound of the watch. The pleasing medium frequency 'hum' is certainly audible, but at least as noticeable is a much higher shrill whine or buzz. Is this normal? If not, what sort of problem does it indicate? I'd appreciate any guidance. Thanks very much... Chandler ccbryan@yahoo.com

Need help: I'd like to know if anyone has had repair difficulty with their Bulova Accutron watch. The model I have is a 25 jewel water resistant to 10 ATM. It looks identical to the Rolex sub mariner model in every respect and detail except it has the Bulova name on it. It needs new threads on the crown as the existing ones seem to be stripped. Apart from that, it works perfectly. Bulova (in Toronto, Canada) did a repair and water test 2 years ago, but now they tell me they can't do any repairs to the watch. Same response from Bulova in New York. It could use a new crystal as well. Looking for help? lash@mb.sympatico.ca
leswilson@ntlworld.com Does anyone know where I can get a genuine Accutron gold coloured metal strap for my Spaceview 214?
Wondering where I can get an Accutron Watch Box for the new Spaceview 21. I have called Bulova and they don't seem to have a clue. The watch comes with an Energizer and there is a place in the box for that piece as well. Any advice you could give would be most helpful... Thanks, Warren Warren.Ezra@ManchesterUS.com
I have an Accutron Deep Sea 666. How do I set the date and day or find a user manual which would explain this? Thanks Terry sailhorse@yahoo.com
Hello. First of all, this site is wonderful. I'm checking the Accutron Place from Italy almost every week to see what's new on my preferred watch, the Astronaut 214. I'd like to get a little help from you: can you post a picture of the box for the Astronaut 214 year 1964: I just purchased the watch and I'm now looking for its box and papers. Please help me. Ciao dall'Italia. Ludovico
I HAVE AN INTEREST IN AN ACCUTRON "MICKEY MOUSE" WATCH. IT IS 24 CT. GOLD, HAS A DATE WINDOW AT 3:00 O'CLOCK, THE STEM AT 4:00 O'CLOCK ON THE SIDE, BUT DOES NOT HAVE "WALT DISNEY PRODUCTIONS" PRINTED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FACE LIKE THE OTHERS I HAVE SEEN. IS THIS A PROBLEM? WHAT MIGHT BE THE REASON? COULD THIS BE A FAKE? PLEASE ADVISE AT passportjack@iname.com. I SURE DON'T WANT TO MAKE A MISTAKE. JACK SHELTON
