February 11, 2011 - For anybody reading this with a 214 who might be tempted to clean their accutron, however well meaning your intentions might be Do not clean your accurton watch dial or chapter ring. If you use water or soap and water or any seemingly inert liquid as it will lift the markings and crackle the lacquer on the dial. Do not clean your battery terminals with seemingly safe cleaners like surgical spirit as the residual vapour will attack and ruin the inside face of the crystal. Take if from me, it made me feel physically ill when I saw what I had done, all with the best of intent Please, please, please, leave it to the accutron experts and just enjoy owning one of these nice watches. Alan

May 20, 2011 Accutron pocket watch: I have been trying to find out when the Accutron was first introduced in pocket watch or pendant watch form. The earliest I have come across is from 1965. When was the Accutron watch first offered in this form? If someone can provide a lead as to where I might view Accutron catalogs from 1960-4, I would be grateful. ALL INFORMATION GREATLY APPRECIATED! August 18, 2011 - I have a 1966 Bulova Accutron 214 solid 14kt gold watch (band is not gold) that was handed down from my father to me. There are 6 diamonds on the face. It was serviced recently by Tri-State Watch Repair in Dyersburg, Tennessee and was rated to be in excellent condition. Where may I get a value, and where may I sell it? September 16, 2011 - My father's Accutron Spaceview - which he purchased new - (M9 214H) recently came into my possession and evidently he had an accident with it a few years back and lost both the crystal and chapter/ reflector ring. I have worked the chapter ring replacement down to either the R582 or the R567. Are either one correct for this watch and what is the difference. I'm looking for the ring with the luminous dot at 12 o'clock and luminous dashes at the 1:00 thru 11:00 hours. Thanks for your time !! Larry Fitzgerald 07abhainn@gmail.com

Have had it cleaned and serviced to ensure it keeps running and it does hum nicely. I got it back in the 1980's and used to wear it a lot, now only on special occasions. Need's someone that can appreciate it and care for it as I have. Only serious buyers need respond to: rerodriguez2@bellsouth.net

December 06, 2011 - Looking for information on my father's Accutron. The band makings are "Speidal" and the nomenclature on the back of the watch is D16955. I can't remember not seeing my father waer this, so my assumption is it's from the late 60's or early 70's. Any information you could provide would be extremely helpful! Thanks! kjcoff@hughes.net
December 23, 2011 - I have an early (1960's) Accutron wrist watch that until about 1-year ago worked fine. The battery was replaced and it work for about 1-month then stopped. January 13, 2012 - I am looking to find an Astronaut 214 black face, sold in the Miami area in 1993 by a relative, inscribed on the back; to dad, oct 14th, 1965 or 1966, john ,George and Eliz, bought for my father would like to find it. thanks johnonik@yahoo.com
January 26, 2012 - my 1964 (M4) Bulova 214 has had the battery replaced several times in the past two years. The problem is that the battery does not last long, less than six months. The other problem is that the opertuinity to wear the watch occurs only about two or three times a year. The watch maker/repair facility that I go to says that the watch is in excellent condition, but can't explain why the battery life is so short (he thinks its because I don't wear the watch often enough). I was wondering if anybody had any ideas. Please feel free to contact me via email: skanter@cableone.net Thank you Steve Kanter
