I have a 1961 Alpha 14K gold Accutron, ser # D33269, with a very faint "M1" below the number on the back. Sometime in the 1980s, the original movement was replaced with a hacking one. When I took it to the jeweler who had repaired it twice before, I was informed that as power cells were no longer being made, there was no way the Accutron could be repaired. Is this still true, or does someone still make some kind of power cell that will work in early Accutrons--and does someone service them so they will work? Peter Granzeau pgranzeau@cox.net
